3rd Annual 2011 Class Picnic

Everyone had a great time and lots of great food at the picnic on Saturday August 6th. I hope others will agree. 12 Classmates attended the BBQ in a shady Bowery at Watkins Park in Brigham City. There was plenty of good food including grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken. A Green salad, baked bean salad and a fruit pizza pie topped the list. Lots of garnishes, veggie tray, cookies and cake completed the meal all prepared by classmates. Barbara's potluck worked great despite my skepticism. Hope to hear comments from others but it looked like the picnic was a complete success for fun and renewing friendships complete with great weather. See photo slide show below. Double click it to view more class photos online.

Here is a list of those that came: Larry Caldwell, Karen Johnson Tam, Barbara Bywater Stokes, Gary & Jana Dunn, Lily Portz, Michael & Gloria Burcham Taylor, Lynn & DeAnna Cheney Hulme, Ray & Elizabeth Richman Taylor, Karen Richards Jensen, Steve Yates, Michael Shelby and Bob Holmes.
Hope to see all of these and more next year when the picnic event will move to September and be located at the Box Elder Camp ground. Thanks to all who attended and helped make this picnic a success and especially Barbara for her dedication to keep the class of 69 partying thru the next decade and beyond!

What to bring:
Pot Luck Picnic for those who would like to coordinate with Barbara Stokes by email (beenurse@live.com) or by phone (435-723-8769)
All others, bring your own picnic (BYOP)

If you would like, bring your own lawn chairs, volleyball, blankets, year books, pictures, cameras and so on. We have the Bowery for most of the day until dark, if you would like to come earlier just tell us what time and post it below.

Barbara and a few others will be there early to set up tables and lite the grill around 3:30-4:00pm. So far it sounds like we'll have more coming than last year!

Watkins Park has a very nice, kind of secluded Bowery, with much less wind than the park we used last year and surrounded on the west and south by trees. There are fire/BBQ pits, 7 tables, nice restrooms and even some monkey bars (Barbara's personal favorite). There is a beautiful swimming pool and Rees Pioneer Park right across the street to the north. It's within walking distance to BEHS, making a nice walk or drive to see what the high school looks like now that the construction is complete.

Please let us know if there are any special needs to we can do to make the activity more enjoyable for you.

If you haven't already, please mark the Events page if you are planning to come, maybe coming or not able to attend so we can decide how many tables to cover and setup.

Looking forward to getting together and catching up!
