Short update on Teacher Tribute page

Just 10 days to go until the class reunion. Barbara is busy making last minute arrangements. She found time to verify some information for the Teacher Tribute page for Principle Ed Payne. She drove to the Brigham Cemetery and verified some info I had found online. Appreciate her extra work on all things related to making this years class reunion a success.

Hope to post a complete list soon of those attending this years reunion so we can commit them to memory and I hope there will be name tags as well. Barbara is tallying the list this week.

Web Update to add Facebook link

I found out that you do not have to be a member of Facebook to look at the class page there so I added a Facebook link for those who are and are not members of Facebook, the link allows classmates to visit the Class page Hosted by Dell Smith on Facebook. The web link is located on this page under Links.

Received notice that the High school Alumni page has finally posted the reunion notice that was requested on the 6th of June. I expressed our disappointment that they could not post it sooner. We did apply just as school was letting out for the summer and things like this do take a back seat to summer vacation plans.

Message from Barbara 7/19/09

Barbara ask me to post this note on Facebook and the Class Page:
  • Please call or email Barbara if someone wants to come to the reunion and just hasn't sent in their papers?
  • What she needs is your dinner choice and they can send/post their bio on our site or email it to the class email address.
  • If she knows it is coming then you can still send your $$ to her via after the RSVP deadline using snail mail.
  • If she orders the dinner tho it has to be paid for since this is not a buffet like other times. Barbara's number is posted on the web page along with the contact class email address.
Thanks,
BobHolmes

Message to Ralph: The Bio page does not collect your email address so I couldn't send you a message. I saw your "My Pink Pillow" book web page while looking for your contact info. Looks interesting!

Thanks for sending your Bio. If you haven't already, please send your email and mailing address and phone number for Barbara's records. Use this email address:

New Lincoln Elementary Photos added to class album

Kirsten Jensen Kobler emailed some great photos she scanned of the Lincoln First thu 4th grade with name tags. The collection has been added to the "BEHS Class of 1969 Photos" in the right panel of this page. Click it to start the slide show and double click to view the photos individually. There is also a magnification option for a closer look.

Appreciate Kirsten's extra effort and hope to see her and all of you at the reunion on August 8th.

Barbara Bywater Stokes
I ordered a "purple surprise" for the reunion. I was thinking of ordering a set of pink flamingos (large lawn type) as a door prize, but I think the purple surprise can be enjoyed by more people.

More of the high school is being torn down as we speak/type. It is the section just north of administration and up to the breeze way. I went over and took a few pictures and it really bothers me. Nothing I can do.

This electronic stuff is great! Keep it coming - it's like talking back and forth on the phone only you are able to "pick up" the phone when you have a minute and enjoy the conversation. Read your bio - very nice!

New Class Bio page added

Responding to several comments from classmates wanting a place to post their bios, I found a way to do this on a new page and all someone has to do it send their info to this special email address and it will post a few minutes later.

Here are some instructions that are also included on the page:

INSTRUCTIONS: Please update your Bio by sending it in an email to this special address:

BEHS.Classof1969.69ClassBio@blogger.com

Put your name as we knew it in High school and your City and State in the Subject. This will help when classmates are searching for friends. Use the class survey info below as a guide if you prefer. Attach photos too. The email size is limited to 10MB so if you can't fit it all in one email, send a second one. If the first email doesn't look like oyu want it, make changes and try it again and the duplicates will be removed.

Yourself – Name, City and State and E-mail
Your education, career, employment
Your hobbies, interests, travel
Your volunteer service in your community, church or other areas
Your family – spouse, children, grandchildren- their special accomplishments
Military service

Use some judgment in how much detail you include, after all this is the world wide web. I don't recommend including street addresses or phone numbers here. Some may prefer not to include an email address. When referring to children and grand children, first names are sufficient. The class web page reserves the right to edit or remove details as necessary. For the most part your email will appear the same as you send it.
